Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary
To summon Bloody Mary you have to go into a bathroom at the stroke of midnight and stand in front of the mirror with a lit candle and with the lights turned off. You chant her name 3 times, “Bloody Mary… Bloody Mary… Bloody Mary…” and then you shout, “I stole your baby!”
And then… in the mirror… you will see the face of a horribly disfigured woman — and she’ll claw your face with razor-sharp nails, leaving you just as terribly mutilated as she is!

Do you remember hearing the story of Bloody Mary when you were younger? Around midnight the other night, Samantha came into my room because she kept having nightmares. When I asked her what she was having nightmares about, she told me about how some friends at school were talking about the ghost of Bloody Mary, and being Samantha, she had to see if the story was true. Of course Bloody Mary didn’t come out of the mirror and scratch her eyes out or mutilate her, or drag her into the mirror (or however you heard the story when you were younger). But she did come and haunt her dreams for one night.
Isn’t it amazing how stories like this pass from generation to generation on school playgrounds, or parks, or wherever kids hang out?
I have always loved ghost stories, and the thrill of being scared like that. I am planning on inviting the kids out, firing up the fire pit, and having a ghost story night real soon. Doesn't that sound like fun? Of course we’ll have hot chocolate and smores…don’t want to scare anyone too bad. Samantha’s even excited about the idea…at least for now.

We had one we called "the witch of Clayton", It's a story I have heard many times from many people who called it many different things. But she lived on Mt. Diablo, and did very bad things.
I am thinking this is just too weird for me to comment on. Who the heck took that picture of Samantha? It is totally freakin' me out!
PS I totally did the Bloody Mary thing when I was in 4th grade!
I'm glad you commented on the picture, because I am so proud of it. I really wanted just the candlelight with the masked person lurking behind her. The lighting came out just right, so that you don't always notice the mask behind her. That's jessica wearing the black mask.
STEVE! You are crazy!!! I totally can imagine samantha doing this!
I think taking this picture was a great idea, it shows her just how phony the story is...
